Cyanotype mixed media
In the past week I played with some cyanotypes, trying different approaches and methods to get the most out of the images I am printing. I don’t know if I succeeded, but I’m honestly quite happy with some of the experiments I’ve done.

Sure, the process is quite a fiddley one, very capricious and environmentally dependant, so is really hard to keep a rigorous track of the steps for each print. I mean I took notes, but this doesn’t necessarily means I can replicate them to get exactly same results every time. However, I truly believe that’s actually the beauty of it, and this way each print made gets its own very special and unique shine.
For instance, in the below example I used some soft white Derwent pencils to pop up the whites and highlights in the image.
I would really love to hear your thoughts on that. ☺️

Until next print,
John

Yeah success! 💙💙
Beautiful results!
