There will be Rain
“Rainy days ahead”, the forecast said. And was not wrong. It rained. A lot. Days. Still not finished, only sporadic stops for short periods of time. Even then, an annoying drizzle fills the air with even more water, like a thin fog.
But I had no choice, I needed to go out. The old Japanese lady I met the other day insisted that we must take a walk. She’s too nice and sweet so..., how could I refuse?! I prepared the backpack with all the needed goodies, the boots waiting by the door, and when the clouds decided to take a break, we rushed out.
A beautiful green natural park not too far away was the aim of the trip, where we thought we could discover each other. So, here we are. The usual paths cutting through the large grass areas were almost under water, not too deep, but enough to make them less visible. We made it through to a more wooded area, and we started exchanging ideas of what we see and if and how we can make something beautiful out of it.
I soon discovered that my companion was quite fussy about the rain, and we tried to hide under big trees and bushes to avoid it. She finally settled down a bit, and we started playing, running around under the trees, disturbing the puddles and splashing mud all over the place. Gentle touches, looking in the same direction, we discovered together hidden gems of beauty, and we ended up getting along pretty well.

But there was water almost everywhere. And I had no wellies. Just boots, waterproof, but, you know... the ads are always better than reality. Plus, it started to rain again... and it was getting colder.
So I asked her if she’s ok to go back home to warm up with a cup of tea, with the promise to show her what we managed to create together. She was very pleased, and we decided to do it again in the future. Maybe not in the rain...

Ohh, almost forgot… She’s my ‘nice and sweet’ companion. ☺️
Until next rolls, John!

I’m glad the Old Lady gave you the nudge to get out ‘n’ about despite prevailing conditions. The first one and the third of the second gallery are my faves, but I enjoyed the whole selection. Thanks for sharing, John.
If you only walk on sunny days, you (both 🙂) will never create these..
